Douglas Brotherston

Douglas Brotherston is an experienced Chartered Accountant much of which has been in the third and heritage sectors.

He has run his own firm of chartered accountants for the last twenty years and has been external financial adviser to a charity established to preserve the house and grounds of a significant stately home for more than twenty-five years, which has included involvement in the strategic financial planning of the Trust and preparation of funding applications for heritage projects related to the site.

More recently Douglas sat on the Board of Paths for All and chaired the Finance sub-committee. Brought up in the New Town in Edinburgh in the 1970s Douglas has always had a great love of the architecture of Edinburgh and enjoyed working on heritage projects throughout his career.
