Lesley has over 30 years’ experience working in the art, heritage, and regeneration sectors. Most recently, she worked with Liverpool City Council’s urban design, policy and placemaking team encouraging high quality, contextual and sustainable design in the public realm.
As Liverpool’s World Heritage Site Co-ordinator, she collaborated with heritage organisations, public and private sector organisations and other World Heritage Sites in the UK and internationally to promote, protect and enhance Liverpool’s rich cultural heritage. She contributed to the development of the Management and Action Plan and the subsequent scoping of a Heritage Strategy for the city post de-designation (2021).
Developing and encouraging effective partnerships with a wide range of organisations to deliver an integrated and creative approach to placemaking and the management of change in the historic environment has been essential to all her work.
