Edinburgh World Heritage is looking for new Board trustees who are:

  • Passionate about Edinburgh and the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage Site
  • Interested in how we connect and engage all people in our heritage
  • Skilled and experienced in aspects of the historic environment, leadership, marketing and communications, strategic thinking and fundraising, or individuals keen to develop in these areas

Edinburgh World Heritage is an independent charity with the aim of ensuring the city’s World Heritage status is a dynamic force that benefits everyone. Our mission is to connect people to their heritage in everything we do – whether through the conservation of historic buildings, delivering improvements to the public realm, or engaging people directly with the rich heritage of their city.

We are seeking new trustees with drive and enthusiasm to join our Board at an exciting moment for our organisation. We also welcome applications from young people or those interested in applying for their first trusteeship. Appropriate support, including training, will be given.

Edinburgh World Heritage’s board is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and stewardship of public and charitably given funds. We are currently seeking the energetic input of individuals who are motivated by the charity’s aims and able to support and add value to the work of its professional team in conservation, engagement and capacity building, offering support and scrutiny to the organisation at a strategic level in execution of its programmes of work and major projects.

Board meetings occur five times a year in central Edinburgh on Mondays from 4-6pm. Board trustees are also expected to play a role in at least one of the organisation’s committees or groups.
