Payment of at least the real Living Wage
- We are fully committed to paying the real Living Wage to all our employees. No member of Edinburgh World Heritage staff is paid less than the real Living Wage as set by Living Wage Scotland.
Appropriate channels for effective workers’ voice
- Formal and informal arrangements are in place through which meaningful dialogue take place. These include regular one-to-one meetings with line-managers and wider team meetings.
- All staff are engaged in strategic planning activities through team workshops.
- The organisation has a whistleblowing policy in place to support all staff in reporting suspected wrongdoing.
Investment in workforce development
- Learning and development is integrated in our strategic planning. Staff and management jointly identify development needs and priorities, ensuring both individual and organisational needs are met.
- Formal and informal learning is offered across the organisation, relating to people’s particular role and wider development.
- We reimburse the cost of annual professional subscriptions which are required for staff
No inappropriate use of zero hours contracts
- We are committed to no inappropriate use of zero hours contracts. Edinburgh World Heritage have no employees on zero hours contracts.
Action to tackle the gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace
- We are committed to valuing and encouraging diversity. Our aim is that our staff will represent the community we serve. We have Valuing Diversity’ and ‘Dignity at Work’ policies in place, available to all staff through our Staff Handbook.
- EWH has a Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy in place to articulate how we drive systemic change and work to ensure that we embed a diverse and inclusive culture that provides opportunities for all to realise their potential.
Offer flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers from day one of employment
- EWH recognises the importance of helping its employees balance their work and home life by offering flexible working arrangements. There is a flexible working policy in place and we currently operate flexible working across the organisation, with hybrid working and flexitime available for all staff.
Oppose the use of fire and rehire practice
- Edinburgh World Heritage opposes, and does not engage in, ‘fire and rehire’ practices.
